can someone tell me....?

I was at the spot last night with some friends.. I had a conversation with this guy who had a 91 Acura Integra..his car was not only a POS with an un painted body kit, but he told me...he was going to go drifting with it next month..now someone correct me if i'm wrong but i thought Integra's were FWD..last time i checked you can't drift a front wheel drive...

Has anyone else run into someone like this? Or am i the only one.. I seem to attract people like this.. Two nights ago i had some kid want to race my best firends 750 Katana with his 98 Civic..he said he could beat it... He lost not only the race but $500 along with it.

I dunno but i hope it's not like this over the summer..because i'll have to move.

Wow. Some dumbasses where you're at.

As for the FF drifting, you can do it, but you can only do a momentum drift, since it's obviously impossible to do any other type.

I saw an article in Shupehr Shtreeht (gay accent on purpose) a while back about this drifting crew that had a Civic in it, and they even gave a step-by-step on how the driver accomplishes the drift with the FF car.

Re: can someone tell me....?

that makes sense..but i don't think he could have done it..like i said POS. Besides the fact it was bone stock excpt for a new clutch and some ugly rims and an ugly wing... but thank you to the guy who psted that pic because i would have had to see it to belive it..

and i live in Canton Ohio..everyone here has seen F&F and thinks that if you put flame stickers and an exaust tip on your car that it will run 10 secons..We have to go like two towns over and race the rich kids if we want a challenge..and even then the most heat they pack is like a Mustang Gt witha few mods the rest are honduhs with euro tails and 18 inch rims..i actully saw a guy with spinning hubcaps today..it was pretty bad.

Re: can someone tell me....?

I've spent quite a bit of time there over the last few years (including driving 2+ hrs of a 4-hr enduro last Nov), and would almost guaruntee that it's at Summit. Looking at it again, it could be turn 8 as well, I can't remember off the top of my head whether or not 8 has concrete at the apex or not.

Isnt it called "ASS DRAGGING" or something like that? Using the momentum like you said. Because from what I know, drifting was for "RWD" cars. And doing it in an "AWD car is almost imposible...I think.

n 1: a force that moves something along [syn: impetus, impulsion] 2: the gradual departure from an intended course due to external influences (as a ship or plane) 3: a process of linguistic change over a period of time 4: something heaped up by the wind or current 5: a general tendency as of opinion: "not openly liberal but that is the tendency of the book" [syn: trend] 6: general meaning or tenor: "caught the drift of the conversation" [syn: purport] 7: (mining) a horizontal (or nearly horizontal) passageway in a mine; "they dug a drift parallel with the vein" [syn: heading, gallery] v 1: be in motion due to some air current; "The leaves were blowing in the wind"; "the boat drifted on the lake" [syn: float, be adrift, blow] 2: wander from a direct course or at random [syn: stray, err] 3: wander about aimlessly; "The gypsies roamed the woods" [syn: wander, swan, stray, roam, cast, ramble, rove, range, vagabond] 4: be driven or carried along [syn: waft] 5: live irresponsibly or freely [syn: freewheel]

Definition number 2 of drift (the gradual departure from an intended course due to external influences), would be the best suited for the discussion at hand.

My basic point is, a drift is a drift is a drift...although they are meaning to do it, drifters are basically taking the car away from its intended path as suits its purpose and engineering. The drive wheels have nothing to do with the term.

Cars aren't designed from the factory to lose traction. Most accidents are caused by drifts. You slipping on ice is a drift. "Drifters" are just basically doing a controlled form of it.

BTW, watch rally-racing for more than five minutes, and I guarantee you'll see one of the most beautiful things in automotive racing, a controlled, 4-wheel drift. You've probably done it yourself, playing the rally courses in GT A-Spec.

I see what you mean. Something new everyday.

Yeah, I watch rally...They do drift. I just couldnt imagine it on pavement.

Re: can someone tell me....?

Thats funny how you say that adding stickers to a car dosent make it fast. Well the NX RX7 in your sig has one gay ass sticker on the side that was not on the actualy car (im pretty sure).

Re: can someone tell me....?

i don't think it's a sticker dude. looks like he photoshopped in a tag, unless it sticks to the tires too.

Re: can someone tell me....?

Still, its made to look like a sticker. I did notice that it was photoshoped in but still. I dont see why you would isult a car because it has a big sticker on the side when your sig has the same look.
