throttle surge cont......

aiight peepz,

this is really pissing me off. all of u talk about throttle surge happening between 1200 and 1500 rpms. but my gs has throttle surge between 600/700 rpms and 1000/1200 rpms. it wierd it'll idle and then bounce to 1000 sometimes 1200 then jus drop to 600/700 rpms and i dunno what it is i've taken the slack out of my throttle cable, cleaned the throttle body and it still is happening. i've been told the the only 2 things remaining to check/replace is a vaccum leak somewhere behind the intake manifold and the tps sensor.

but how do u find a vaccum leak and if i do have a vaccum leak how do u fix it??

and about the tps sensor.... what do these damn things run to buy brand new??

thanks on any advice you can provide me with

while the car is running spray some starting fluid on and around the intake manifold to check for leaks! if the engine revs up then you know you have a leak, also spray all the hose connections, where the intake manifold meets the head, and any other connection that looks as if its vacuum related!

Re: throttle surge cont......

That is what I am doing, ignoring the surge.
But mine does not go down.

And just so you know it can be more than the tps sensor and vac leaks...

I am hoping mine was because of my egr valve, so i pulled that sucker out yesterday
