Safe to drive with no rear sway bar?

Hi guys,

I have a 95' Escort LX, and both mounting points of my rear anti-sway bar are broken off (bolts rusted/broken). I can get the mounting hardware to bolt it back up in a few days, but I want to know if I can still drive the car until then.

I know that the sway bars in a car minimize body roll, and in this case I will have more rear body roll than front. Is this a big deal? Should I keep it off the road? Or can I still drive this to work as long as I'm careful?

Re: Safe to drive with no rear sway bar?

*Bump*

I'm now thinking of driving the car with no rear sway bar at all, since it costs $45 a side for the mounting hardware that I need to replace. Safe? Yay or nay?

should be fine . all the sway bars do in minimize roll so don't take any sharp corners at 90

Re: Safe to drive with no rear sway bar?

Cool thanks man. I've already drove it around quite a bit without the sway bar. I can't even notice any differance in the ride anyways, so it stays off for now. If I need it fixed for safety inspection, I'll fix it then
