By reading thousands of posts on AF of course. And if I had no clue wtf they were talking about, i figured it out in Howstuffworks and random searches.

Well, my whole family is into hot rods and always was. My uncle had a tire lifting nova, my grandma a SS 454 Chevelle, my mom a 305ci Monte Carlo (eww...slow), my dad had so many hot rods cant name them all (range from a pathetic 175 hp Camaro to a high 700's Cuda). My stepdad has 3 fox-body mustangs. So i pretty muched learned alot of what i know from my parents. And i used to order summit racing magazines and just see how many parts i could remember. Started when i was 12, now 4 years later i end up with alot of knowledge. I also have taken auto mechanics classes in 9th,10th, and this year. I've had 2 project cars to learn with also. And i still dont know probably 10 percent of what you can learn about them.

When I was 3 I used to be able to name every single part to a Cola Carbeurator.

I lost that interest due to my own childhood whims...

but now I'm back and trying to relearn

Re: About Cars

Getting free back-issues of Road & Track from the library when I was younger. And reading them all. That and hanging out/working at PM Auto, a local BMW shop that has become my second home. Yes, I've even slept there. I get to ride in/drive/clean/ talk about all sorts of cars. I've also learned much about food there.

Hanging out around the service shop my dad runs, working on his Camaro, and listening to the techs around the shop. And most recently, i started my associates degree in automotive technology: with management concentration...Where i've learned more in depth aspects of cars...Like working on them, diagnosis and repair, and in all categories. Plus i've worked at a dealership for five years this may(i'm 18) so basically my entire life has revolved around cars(with everyone and thing else coming in second)

I learned about cars and driving because I had to deliver the tofu to the top of Mt Akina every day for the last 5 years....

I was born in the shop. Started pulling Small birggs and Stration engines apart and putting them back to gether. Then just gradually just started moving to the bigger engines.

I started learning about cars from my dad and by fetching tools for him when he worked on our cars. I also read a lot of books. When I was able to get on the Internet I began reading information from a lot of websites. I also worked on my cars when I started to drive. Then I came across these great forums and they have been the greatest well of automotive knowledge for me since.

Re: About Cars

In all honesty, I got intrested after the first Fast and The Furious came out. I wanted a Civic soooo bad after seeing that movie. To learn about that kinda stuff, I went out and got lucky, buying a subscription to SCC instead of Superstreet or some crap like that. I learned about classy imports, and lost my intrest in the Civic...now I'd kill for a MkIV Supra...all black...maybe some tastefull wheels (Volks), keep it externally stock, and just go balls out on engine modification, transmision, suspension...etc...
