B18A v.s B16??

should a 89' CRX with a B18A1 be able to beat an 88 CRX Si with a B16 with a DOHC Vtec?? I know there are a few diff B16's but i didnt get any mor specs then that......im just curious which car you think should win?

the b16 will probably win ... I love the LS motor though cause its actually got torque ... and you dont gotta put premium gas in it.

it would be a good racer. i love ls too. feel much more torquier than the b16. unlike the b16 you feel power at all rpms, b16 u only feel it in the higher rpms. if the ls can drive it right he should jump all over the b16 and have the power to stay there. trust me i've seen this two engines in same cars battle several different time. almost every occassion ls wins.

From personal experience it all will depend on the mods and driver. If either driver sucks then the other will win. But from what I have seen the b16a should win

Hey actually the two have run a while back, cars ran 3 times and my CRX with the LS in it won everytime......could just be drivers who knows.......

In the exact same car - B16A.

A lot of people on here quote other people's 1/4 times and shit, but they don't think about the tonnes of varying factors between what some dude online said he ran with a B18A in his 89DX in Florida vs. what some dude ran with his B16A in a 90Si in Texas...

the ls would probably get it from the jump but the b16a will deffinetly get him at the end.

in a 1/4 in the exact same elevation, exact same mods on each car and equal driver skill the LS will take it, i have seen it NUMEROUS times here in sacramento at sac raceway

crx has huge weight advantage.......b16a turbo vs. turbo crx ls same mods etc ls will win in 1/4 race

I had an LS, it wasnt that impressive. it felt torquey at lower rpms than other honda engines, but the top end sucked. I ran just 1 1/10 of a second faster in the 1/8 mile than my d16z6, where you figure torque would matter the most in such a short distance.

I have to agree with b16a because the high end vtec would stomp the LS!
