Add-a-leaf????
1997 GMC Sierra, Z71...would lke to raise the truck about two inches without the expense of body lift..bigger tires..etc. What about the "trailmaster add-a-leaf"??. I pull a 4000lb trailer at times and thought that would also help.

it's one way to do it, but not the best, adding a leaf to the stack it the
best , then the correct arch

So all you want to do is lift the truck about 2"? No bigger tires? Or body lift?
Are you just raising the back? What about front? An add-a-leaf will stiffen up the ride especially with no load. I have seen add-a-leafs with a "soft ride" also so shop around. CST (California Super Trucks) makes a set of shackles that install on FRONT of your leafs for increased ride height. They are real heavy duty and are nothing like the lift shackles you might see on the rear of leafs on older trucks with the square bars hanging down waiting to get snagged. I put a set on my S10 (2.5" lift) and was very happy. You still get stock ride. Helwig makes HELPER springs. THey help with loads like " a 2 ton trailer" You install them on top of your leafs and you will have stock ride while unloaded but then they stiffen up when weight is added. Reducing the sag when heavily loaded. Since you sound like you are trying to not spend a lot I wont mention air helper springs.

BODYLIFTS ARE CHEAP AND EASY HONESTLY YOUR BEST BET IS A BODY LIFT.EVEN IF YOUVE NEVER INSTALLED ONE BEFORE IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE YOU, A BUDDIE AND A TWELVER LESS THAN 5 HOURS (LESS THAN THREE IF YOU HAVE A COMPRESSOR AND IMPACT/ LESS THAN THAT IF YOU HAVE A HOIST). I KNOW THERE ARE A FEW PEOPLE SELLING COMPLETE 2 OR 3" KITS NEW IN THE BOX ON EBAY. MOST KITS COME WITH BRACKETS TO RAISE THE BUMPERS SO THE TRIM STAYS IN LINE AND THERE ARE NO GAPS. I HAVE SEEN THEM SELL FOR UNDER $150. THAT WOULD ALSO GIVE YOU THE OPTION FOR BIGGER TIRES DOWN THE ROAD WHICH WOULD GIVE YOU MORE LIFT AND ADD GROUND CLEARANCE. CHEAPER THAN A BODY LIFT WOULD BE A LEVELING KIT FOR YOUR TORSION BARS/ ALSO AVAILABLE ON EBAY. THE MORE YOU CRANK THEM UP THE TALLER YOU GO BUT MUCH OVER AND INCH AND YOUR RIDE QUALITY GOES OUT THE WINDOW. THEN JUST GET A SET OF 2" BLOCKS FOR THE REAR. TOTAL INSTALL TIME- UNDER 2 HOURS. I DONT THINK ADD A LEAFS WILL BE THAT CHEAP AFTER INSTALLATION COSTS. BUT A BODY LIFT ISNT GOING TO HELP PULL YOUR TRAILER. -12 ga
