Interested In Getting One

Alright, so here's the deal, this winter in January, I slid my '91 MR2 on ice into a tree at 20mph, and because of the radiator and airbag both going the car was effectively totaled. So I'm looking for a new car. 3000GT's are at the top of my list currently, and I was wondering if you guys being owners could just help me out. I realize you've gotta love this car, I loved my MR2, but I still realize the car had some flaws, like the synchro's that always go out in the '91-'93 trannys. So I was hoping you guys could give me a heads up as far as problems that the car typically has, and that sorta thing, part availability, etc. I mean I'm used to it with an MR2, I was just curious if it's better or worse with this car. Also if anyone has one from Chicago to Detroit (I'm from Kalamazoo area) and is interested in selling give me a heads up. According to a post on this forum the cars I have been looking at getting on autotrader are a bit overpriced. I'm hoping to find one in the neighborhood of $8000, it's gotta be a manual (I'm surprised at how many aren't), and I think I'm going to end up with an SL, VR-4's seem a bit out of my price range as far as one with fairly low mileage goes. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer me with this, and soon hopefully I'll be joining your ranks as an owner.
peace

Ouch on the MR2 man... that's gotta suck =\ But, these cars are definately fun cars to have, so I strongly encourage you to get one. I personally haven't had many problems with mine but I have heard that they have weak trannies that can go sometimes. Plus you gotta make sure to keep up with the 60k tune up... Other than that, parts shouldn't be hard to find... but they can be a bit pricey. I got an SL, and even though it's not as fast as a VR4, it still holds its own against a lot of other cars and is still fun as hell to drive. Good luck =)
