Question Jdm Wiring

I'm thinking about buying a set of JDM black housing headlights for my 93 vtec lude. I just bought a ground designs kit and it looks hot... I'm trying to black my car out... gunmetal rims with chrome lip, black lights, deep greddy evo exhaust, and intake. I've bought the kit and am on my way.

I can pick up the jdm 1pc blk headlights for 250 and its claimed to have harness bulbs and lamps. I've heard the bulbs are H1 and H4 vs. stock USDM 9006 and 9005. What rewiring do i have to do?? The pics sent to me dont have any relays and do i need them for my rides conversion?? Someone help me out... This light deal isnt offered for too long. Thanks a shit load...

Re: Jdm Wiring

What? You're replacing the bulb housing or what?

Question

I just bought a set of JDM black 1pc headlights.... They fit my lude but I heard they run a H4/H1 bulb system versus the 9006/9005 system my USDM lude has. Do I need to do any re-wiring or can I just splice the wires and hook it up?? I thought I heard you might have to get new relays and hook it straight to the battery or something.. but I'm not sure if thats right... someone help??

Re: Jdm Wiring

Unless its running at a different wattage, I don't see why you would need to reroute any wires.

you have to remove the front bumper to install the headlights and the harness just has to be cut and spliced into the old harness.i did this conversion also.the bulbs mine came with were like hids.bright as hell.just make sure that you disconnect the battery and splice power to power and ground to ground....good luck and a great buy...

I would be more worried about getting the replacement bulbs as in the integra 1 pc had a strange H4a or H4h type of bulb that was only used in jdm market and if it takes that bulb ecpect to pay top dollar for replacements as for plugs for the H4 you just pick up a set at a junkyard and swap out the plugs

Cool

the setup I bought comes with the lightbulbs and harness set up.. but the guy i bought them from told me i should get 4 relays and wire it the way it would have been wired in japan because the bulbs work in a series. has anyone wired these lights without using aftermarket relays and just wired straight into the old wires? the lights are the 1pc JDM headlights.... thanks everyone so far... still trying to make sure.

I think it's a wire for wire deal if it's got a H4 bulb it has Hi-Lo beam in one bulb the H1 might be the Hi beam also or as a fog light if you can post a pic of the lights with the wires i might be able to offer alittle more help
