Unhappy Really worried about my wheels now!

A poor guy that parks in the parking building that I do had his mag wheels stolen on Friday.

He parks in the reserved parking (which means that you need a swipe card to get in). Pedestrians have access but only through a side door. He had an alarm and lock nuts and they still managed to get the wheels off.

The guy on the gate heard and saw nothing and the security cameras aren’t in action at the moment.

I’m really worried about my wheels now and am investing in a second set of lock nuts.

Re: Really worried about my wheels now!

Get 4 sets. Then Put 1 in each wheel per set.

Re: Really worried about my wheels now!

Some people can be real assholes... is it that hard to make an honest living these days that you have to go around stealing things off of people's vehicles? It's sad, but when I park my truck at my dorm I take my faceplate off of my cd player and I take my cb antenna's off of my truck and lock them inside the cab so nobody takes off with them. It's really sad that a person has to go through so many precautionary moves to avoid being the victim of theft. One of my friends' mom just had her car keyed and a couple of her tires slashed over a dispute over a dog!? WTF? I'm sorry but I wish those stupid assholes out there who think it's cool to vandalize and steal stuff would just get the shit beaten out of them. For all I care they deserve it. I apologize for the rant everybody, but that stuff just pisses me off.

Sorry to hear that other guy lost his wheels. Hope you avoid the same fate.

Get something like this and electrify them when you park...

That would be great!

I hold my breath every time I get out of the lift now expecting to see my car without wheels.

Craigcully I totally agree. Thieving really gets me too. I’m the same as you in that I take the face of my stereo off everytime I park it somewhere.

My alarm has a shock sensor and tilt sensor as well as anti-hijack so I’ve done all I can to protect it really. I just have to hope that my car doesn’t suffer the same fate.

Yeah, isn't it sad? I just worked on a '02 Civic typeR for a dealer today. Some knob ripped the whole entire dash apart to get the radio, heat and AC controls out of the car while it was parked in the lot right under a very bright light on the bussiest street in town! The DH took wire cutters and cut everything out. My guess is they wanted to update some $400 ride. They did leave the plug for the stereo though. I had to find out wire about 100 wires needed to go. I actually got it all fixed but man, what a waste. I am not a Honda fan but this little car is pretty neat with all the leather and graphite dash stuff.

Re: Really worried about my wheels now!

people can really suck sometimes, I've got a pair of nice subs, and every time I park, I half expect them to be missing. but that might just be me being paranoid

Get some bolts and lug nuts for the rotors that are reverse threaded. They'll never get stolen then.

Re: Really worried about my wheels now!

I know some assholes at my school that steal stereos and they piss me off so much. They're the reason I take my faceplate out and have the stock covers on my speakers. Good thing I got $20 hubcaps and nobody around here is poor enough to steal those.

Re: Really worried about my wheels now!

I won't have mags on my Skyline. It's just not worth the hassle, especially as I work shifts and have to leave it parked on the street at odd hours.

The only compensation is that any car or parts thereof can be replaced with a good insurance company.Just don't leave irreplaceable personal items,or your wallet,in your car.

The only problem is Advan don’t make the AVS Model 5 in that style anymore.

I have taken the centre caps off and now that they’ve been repainted a darker colour hopefully no one will recognise them for what they are.

They are insure for $5,000 though which means I would be able to get another good set of Japanese wheels. I just hope I never have to.
