You can get a K&N filter. they are for 91-96 g20's. Those are the best filters.

I have the Weapon-R intake..also from Nopi. I dont really know how the 93.5 G20 engine looks but it still is an SR20DE so i dont see why it shouldnt fit. Someone mentioned in another post that the air sensor of the 2000 G20 was larger than the 1999 (did i get that right?), which is why an intake from a '99 wont fit a '00. I suppose if the air sensor is the same size of the '99 then itll fit. You could also just get rid of the stock airbox and just put on a cone filter from Stillen of Jim Wolf Technology. The Weapon-R just comes with a colored tube to replace the stock rubber one. Hot Shot (www.hotshot.com) makes a complete cold air intake system for the 91-93 G20 and also the 94-99 G20 for $201. That might be better performancewise. And maybe (?) you can add the AEM water bypass valve on the cold air if you live in a damp/moist area just to be safe. Oh yeah, I changed the Weapon-R filter to a different one. It was made of foam and I wanted something a little different. I dont think it matters anyway. Hope this helps. :smoker2:

Question Intake for off road use only ?

Does DEQ allow the use of this aftermarket intake ? Or do you guys just remove the high performance intake and replace it with the stock air box before you go through emissions ? I want to purchase one also but swapping it in and out seems like a pain in the ass.

thanks

I've had my G20 for two days and I love it!

state inspections vary a bit. i live in new jersey, and they do not check anything under your hood. i dont think having an aftermarket airfilter or intake would affect your emissions test. all it does is suck more air in especially at higher rpm's. in new jersey the emissions test is done while the car is idle, so basically the aftermarket unit isnt really doing much at that point. =)

Intake?????

dude if you lookin for an intake for a 1993 g20 just buy the filter and the adapter!! it'll cost you no more than 50.00...
i own a 1994 g20t and it has a custom cold air intake!!
thats rite its custom!!! all you have to do is go to a muffler place and let them bend you a 3' pipe from under the fender all the way to the adapter and just let them torch the 2 peices together THEN PUT THE FILTER ON THE BOTTOM!!! BAM A CUSTOM MADE COLD AIR INTAKE!!!!

is that all that the air intake is? a tube and a filter? so the only reason that they dont sell many intakes for our cars is because the tubes arent bent to fit our cars? so can u get a good filter, add it to a custom tube, and connect it to the adapter? on my p11, there are all these wires and metal things coming out of the plastic tube . whats up with that

GtRider,

What brand and model number did you use for the filter and adapter?

How low from the ground did you extend the pipe ?

Thanks for the great idea. :cyclops:

intake: the pipe

hey is the adapter really necessary? does it really give you more horses because you move the filter to a colder area of the engine?

what is every one using as a air filter, k&N? what do people recommend and how much is it?

thanks in advance

d

K&N are really good filters, but they dont make them for '00+ . You might get it custom installed but not from factory. They will cost you around 40 bucks i think....but they last for a LONG time...you just have to clean them out once in a while with a special cleaning product that K&N makes

No, I don't think so. I don't see why you wouldnt be able to put on the AEM air bypass valve. I saw in the ultra performance catalogue for $44.95...3 sizes too.

I think they say that to cover their asses. If you drive through a huge puddle and hydrolock your motor you can't sue them. Kind of like an 'I told you so.'
