Intermitten Problem - temp. loss of radio, heater, rear wiper, front wiper, power windows, electic rear defrost.
We have had this into the dealer 4 times already and they have replaced the body computer, the ignition switch, replaced the positive battery cable. replaced the front control module, this all started last October and only seems to do it when it is raining or very damp outside. Sometimes it will do it when you first start the vehicle nad once it warms up all the systems are working again. But starting around Christmas time, it would do it after you drove somewhere and started it after returning to the car. Has anyone else had this problem? |

Re: 2003 Caravan Electrical Problem -
I would say you have a bad body harness. It is not uncommon for any vehicle manufacturer to experience this problem. After having all the key components replaced and the problem is still present I would demand that the dealer replace the entire body harness. It will take them a few days to do any verify that everything is working. They baasically have to gut the van and replace the electrical harness.

Re: 2003 Caravan Electrical Problem -
Good one! Go to your nearest library and ask were the car manuals are. You may need to go to the main branch. Our library has the manuals that I have had to use on the job. In the Michell manuals under Electrical you should be able to find a "power and ground" diagram that will shows you how these circuits are related. It's easy. Follow the lines. If all the problems are happening at the same time and go away at the same time, then they all have the same root cause. On the fuses"If you pull the fuses out, take a flash light and look at the 2 prongs the fuses make contact with on both ends. If the prongs are spread they will now always make contact."

Yim- all these electrical accessories are likely on the same circuit. Start with the easy stuff, check fuse & relay locations for loose connections. Like tazman & GNW say, You may need an electrical schematic + This is likely a wire harness issue, where a connection is loose, or a pin is not making good connection. Check the bulkhead fitting where the main harness goes through the firewall & check connections under the dash, near relay boxes & fuse box. Temperature changes and/or chassis flex causes this connection to go on/off. Hope you get this resolved! a 2003 is too new for problems!

I would let mopar take care of it, thats why you get a warrany and remember every time you bring it in for work to keep all the paper work done to it just in case you have to use the lemon law.
