Question big exhaust for a while.... how much would it hurt?

any ideas on how much running 3 inch exhaust would hurt my car right now? i know i'd lose tons of low end, might see slight gains at top end?
the reason i'm asking is because i'm going turbo soon and i really don't want to pay all that money just to switch from 2.25 to 3" after having it for a few months... thx

3" is too much for an n/a 4 banger, even a high-revving beast like mine.. 2.5" max is fine. I don't even think a turbo will need a 3" exhaust unless you're running some insane psi

yeah, i'm going to be running a combination of .5 and 1 bar of boost, depending on how brave i'm feeling that day.. lol. think 1 bar is enough to warrant 3 inch?
on a side note.. is that gif in your sig from getaway in stockholm 2?

Definately go 3"......screw what gonna happen now and save yourself some money in the future that can be put to other things than doing something that you should of done in the first place. What exhaust are you looking at?

3" exhaust on a non turbo setup, prepare to have your ears bleed. Don't bother installing the exhaust, it is way too loud to drive on the street before you have the turbo on.

Re: big exhaust for a while.... how much would it hurt?

i don't think i could be able to do that.. lol.. besides, i'm just getting the muffler.. "tuner medallion" racing medallion muffler, then having my friend and i weld up some pipe for the rest of the exhaust, should cost me hella less to do it that way.. as long as i can get the pipe mandrel bent it'd be ok
but yeah, i just wanted it now cause i been listening to exhaust sound files for the last few days and i want one i can wait i guess tho
