2004 Grand Cherokee Limited

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with all available options.

I'm having a problem with the TPS. When I start my jeep I get a (tire pressure sensor bad or missing) alarm, when I reset the alarm it goes away and I can see pressures in all 4 tires. The dealer wants $85 just to tell me which one is bad. I don't see one bad! As long as I press reset or wait a minute the alarm goes away. If I put the spare on it also tells me what the pressure is. Is there some way of finding out what is wrong or which one is bad without flipping the ridiculous $85 fee? Maybe a whole system reset? Can they go bad and still tell you what the pressure is?
I think if you can see the pressure then the sensor must be good, right? Or am I wrong?

I believe a new sensor is $150 + $85 I'm a dealer fee + who knows how much labor = too much for a pressure I can still see!

Re: 2004 Grand Cherokee Limited

Most likely one of the sensors has a weak battery. You need a special tool to read the sensors and that is pretty much the only way to figure it out.The battery is built into the sensor and cannot be replaced seperately. The way I see it,you have 2 choices.1.pay the dealer.Or 2. live with it
