Post $1500 in mods

Okay what is the fastest 0-60 or 1/4 mi. that a teg GS-R could pull with only $1500 in mods. We're talkin doin installations yourself and getting parts off ebay. FYI stock GS-R 0-60 is 7.1 secs., and 1/4 mile around low-mid 15's.

If I had the time I could make a GSR run low 13s in the 1/4 with $1,500.

Re: Re: $1500 in mods

If you had time to do what...? Port and polish the heads yourself and build a turbo for it? Or are you just talking about installing bolt-ons bought with the 1500? No disrespect intended, lol, I just want to be clear on what you mean by "having the time". Thanks in advance

I meant that I work so much right now that I don't even have time to put a stereo in my car, let alone build a 13 second car. So if I had the time to do it, to install all the parts myself, then I could.

What am I smokin'? Let's see

I would like to know what parts you would buy though.. I would really like to see you going all engine on this one, but I dont know (especially with out being able to enhance the drivetrain) how a GSR could chop 1.5 - 2 secs of it time with just 1500 dollars. You could go turbo but there would be hardly enough money to upgrade the fuel system, oil colling let alone an intercooler... Are you think about using all junk yard pieces???

I bet you score some sweet nugget out there on the west coast!

$1500 you could do ebay intake for like 40 add a KN filter 50. get a universal muffler 60 go to a muffler shop have the exhaust repiped from the catback with like 2.25 or 2.5 " pipeing. get some headers. like 350 i think for dc the 4-1 are pretty good i heard. then you could lower it with good quality prings or slip on coilovers for like 200 or so. then do what ever with the rest like lightwieght rims. rota slipstream 16" wiegh like 13lbs a piece. you could also get a nitrous system and spray a 50 or 75 shot. anyways if you look around 1500 could go a long way.
