New to the forums/wanting to learn about cars

Hello everyone, I just joined AF because I want to actually learn stuff about cars . I am not sure what to ask but I'm curious about the nature of the forums.

My car isn't spectacular, but it isn't bad either. I drive an 04 Intrepid SE 2.7L 6Cyl. There have been some problems with it. The timing belt needs to be replaced, but I don't want to send it to a mechanic because I can't afford to do that. My radiator is also having issues, mainly leaking. The worse part is, I may have to end up selling it because I can't afford the insurance payments.

Basically my question is: What's a decent car I can buy used for around 3-5k? I'd prefer Japanese, Honda mainly if they have good ones at that price. 4WD or AWD, tape player, and of course airbags. Sorry if I'm vague, again I'm simply a noob lurking the boards to gain insight and knowledge!
