Question 98 pistons in a 90?

ok, quick question: will 98 Ex pistons work with a 90 DX motor? i looked around the internet but could not find the damn bore x stroke for the 1998. (in the 90 DX it is 75.0 x 79.0 bore by 2.95 x 3.11 stroke www.civic4g.com) anyway if anyone has a sec to look it up it would help . --have a 90 w/ a busted piston, and happen to see an auction on EBAY for a set of 98s for $10 lol, i didn't think i would win them anyway haha. if they wont fit i'll resell them.

Re: 98 pistons in a 90?

No I don't think they will work. The bore is the same but the comp height is different, and the stroke is different for the d16y8. The piston will actually be too short to simply put it. They will fit in the motor but they will not work right, you will have abserdly low compression levels. Sorry man you need D15B2 or D15B7 pistons. Man I wish I would have saved my old D15b2 pistons from my 91 I would have sold them to you, I thought they would be worthless so I let the machine shop keep them lol.
