high pitch tone?

got my moms car put back together and running strong..was BHG..anyways..i go out and drive the car and once you shut it off there is a high pitch tone coming from the silver box by the battery/fuse box. what is interesting is that once I turn the lights on (car off) the tone gets higher....then when i turn on the brights the tine really gets high...what the hell is this noise for? then all of the suuden i hear a click and the noise is gone??? anyone have a clue? thanks

Thats normal...its just the computer "cooling down" I guess until it just shuts off and goes to sleep. Mine always does it and I did wonder why it did at first, but its fine.

why cant it cool down a little more quietly...you know i never noticed that about this car until i did the recent work to it....as long as it's normal operation im satisfied

Ha...I dont know ask Dodge. Its no problem though I can assure you, its just the way it works. I think it makes the car sound high tech anyway...so does so engine whizzing in 2nd gear at low RPMs...sounds like a little turbo. Haha.

The other day when i put my intake in, the car started to make this high pitched noise i never heard be4. I started to panic then i just tapped one of the spark plug boots and it stopped. It hasnt been back either so i guess i got lucky

What he said... its the PCM that whines, most all first-gen neon's do it... its not a problem.
