Swap!
Hey people I need some help from the one's who actually know for sure what they are talking about. My engine blew and I need a new one now I own a Talon 94 N\T but the engine I want is a 4g63Turbo will this fit fine in my car or what? Some say yes and others told me no I need your help... Also if you could give me sites as to where I can find the best deals on a new or fairly used one with everything with it. THANKS

Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether or not a turbo would bolt up to your existing trans and mounts. Assuming it would bolt right up, there are other issues to consider. For example, turbo motors have extra sensors, like a knock sensor for example, which needs to communicate with the ECM. Your unit wasn't intended for a turbo, so your ECM is probably different. There are also timing curves and such which are programmed into the ECM, which are undoubtedly different between a turbo and non turbo. Just something to think about. I found an outfit last year, in Texas, where I saw some good deals on used engines and transmissions for Talons/Eclipses. I talked to a guy there, and he told me they specifically dealt with low mileage cars, and had some sort of an arrangement through Japan for them. To give you an example, a complete motor was about $900, at the time, and a trans was running about $550. They give you a 1 year warranty. I can't remember the name of the outfit. I just did a search on used engines/transmissions for Eagle Talon, but I didn't see anything. If I have some time later I'll look a little bit more. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Mark |

Re: Swap!
well you have a 4g63 in there right now, its just not turboed. There would be a lot of senser work invoved and probally a new ECU. Over all i dont think its going to be worth your time. And yes it will bolt up if you want.
