Red face '04 Defrost Isssue - Help!

Just bought new '04 Burb and went out in the winter mess today for
the first time (25 degrees, freezing drizzle) and the defroster, heat,
and wipers wouldn't clear the windshield of ice or frost! First
noticed it when I was warming it up in the driveway - all windows
cleared except the top of the windshield.

Went driving and no matter what I did; defroster on 80 degrees, wiper
fluid, wipers, lowering the visors to trap the air would clear the
upper third of the windshield - eye level and above! Drove it until I
ran out of wiper fluid and took it by the dealer. Spoke to the
service manager who said it was performing as best it could in the
weather! BS! If I can't drive it in this kind of weather, it is
useless! Every automobile I've ever owned was able to heat the
inside to defrost and maintain a clear windshield.

The wipers were ice free the inside cabin temperature was 80+ until I
couldn't breath and still couldn't see through the upper third of the
windshield! Never had this trouble with an '01 or '97! There is
plenty of air coming out of the defrost but above half way on the
windshield the air seems to bounce out toward the driver not climbing
to the upper area? The moonroof defrosted with the high temps but
not the windshield!

As I was trying to figure it out the only thing I noticed was that
the ceiling panel at the top of the windshield was slightly gapped
whereby I could almost stick my finger above the panel. Could cold
air be backflowing from the moonroof down on the windshield from
under the ceiling panel???

Any suggestions would be more than welcome. This is a serious
problem in bad weather and can only be diognosed in such. Dealer is
oblivious to problem let alone solution. Let's talk Lemon Law!

Help Please!

Best,
