legalizing a 180sx for us

I'm going to be heading for japan here in a couple months and I'll be there for a couple years. My goal is to get my hands on a rps13 and bring it back to the states. Unfortunetly I can't find any info on legalizing it. Does anyone know of anywhere to get this info or how much it might cost? Thanks

you would actually have to get in contact with your state department of transportation to find out. If you were to import a vehical, and not tell them and get the process started to import it, then the state or federal government is allowed to sieze the car and crush it, no questions asked. Im sure there is several permits you would need to get, like emissions, safety, and other stuff the government worries aobut
