need answers on 3.5 fabtech lift and cv angles?

hey I have a 99 tacoma with 32x11.50x15 with 15x10 eagle alloys and the 3.5 inch fabtech suspension lift. The truck looks sick and It has been lifted for four months. The problem I have is I keep ripping cv boots I know the reason is the lift and the angle on the cvs. My question is does any one know if there is something I can get to fix that problem or do I need to get the pro-comp 4inch or the fabtech 6inch and swap it out.

I ran the 3.5" Downey kit for a while, and I got about 50k out of a set of CV boots. You could crank it down a bit to prolong the life of the boots, install some manual lockout hubs (that way the CV axle won't spin unless you lock the hubs), or change to a different style of lift.

You can't lift your truck more than 2.25" or 2.5" with automatic hubs. If you had it higher than that not only will you rip cv boots, you run a really good chance of wrecking your cv joints, and that's where the big money is. Those kits for converting to manual hubs is awesome, but they will run you around $1000 for it all. One option you have is to try out a company called MecaTech. They make cv boots for our trucks, that are meant to withstand greater angles. The other thing to think about is, if you want to spend a grand on that manual hub kit, you can spend another 300 or 400 and get a trailmaster 6" kit and have much more impressive gains and keep the angle stock. Good luck!

the revtek 3" kit had the same problem for quite a while, until they added a diff hanger in the kit, you might need to look into it. i know cornfed has some good stuff or you might be able to contact revtek and get one from them. good luck
