Door Ajar Warning light

I have a 2002 V8 Explorer Eddie. All of a sudden my Door ajar light is coming on. Yes I have checked and rechecked all the door and also the real glass hatch. They are all closed (by checked I mean I have opened and closed all doors). Is there a major electrical problem, and one else have this happen to them? Thanks for all the help in advance. Scott

Re: Door Ajar Warning light

Chances are good that the door pin switch located in the door latch assembly is dirty or stuck. Pick up some electrical parts cleaner, spray it into the latch assembly and open and close the door a few times. Start with the driver's door. If the problem doesn't go away, then move to the next door and repeat. If you use electrical parts cleaner and don't spray lubricants into the latch mechanism, this will probably be a long-term fix. The lubricants tend to attract dirt and grime and will contaminate the switch after a short while.
