1985 Suburban
Morning!
I have a 1985 Suburban.. the rubber washers on the "handles" or latches on the Vent windows on the driver's side & passenger side need to be replaced b/c of water leaking in.. can anyone tell me how to take them off and replace? Second, I'm looking to increase the axel ratio (currently 3.36) to tow my new recreational trailer... (approx. 6000- 6500 pounds) Any advice / guidance out there? For example, is this okay to do? Will it damage the engine / transmission over time? The 'burb has a "new" 350 V8 with about 35K on it.. rebuilt transmission, etc. Any ideas as to costs? Thanks for any help! |

Try JC Whitney or LMC truck for the window stuff. As far as the axle ratio goes, I would always figure on under $500 per axle for a gear changes. This depends on if your carrier can accomodate the new gear set or if you want to add a traction aid diff.
