Brake Buzzes at Low MPH
I have a 2000 5.3 litre Silverado with auto trans and several times a day when I'm at 2 to 3 MPH while stopping the brake pedal buzzes and it feels like the brakes stop working. It only lasts for about a second or two. I get no SES or fault lights. Can anybody shed some light on the situation.
Thanks, Sonny |

Re: Brake Buzzes at Low MPH
Well im not completely sure but it sounds exactly like its your antilock brakes. What are the road conditions like? If the road is very wet or icy and you press on the pedal your break pedal will shudder and make a buzz sound and feel like it stops working. My 00 5.3 does the same thing i actually got in an accident from this. Try pumping the break once. Either that or check your antilock brake sensors and your brake fluid. If that dont help have the dealership take a look at it.

Recently solved, but not until dealership stumbled on solution. ABS sensors are rusted, can be cleaned. Also just started on our 2000 Blazer with 40,000 mi.

NJS,
Is cleaning the ABS sensors something I can do or is it something for a dealer. Plus, I had new tires put on a couple weeks ago and maybe something got knocked loose. I to have had a close call like BadBoy but I was lucky and didn't hit anything. Thanks for the info. Sonny |
