speed on b16
now i have a quick question, im deciding if its worth all the money to put a b16 in a 2nd gen crx.... now ive test drove a brand new civic crx with a b16 in it with the a/c off on a warm day and it wasnt all that fast, so my question is would a crx with the 1st gen cable tranny b16 be alot faster than the new si? i know someone has raced one and knows the answer... :P

Re: speed on b16
they are alot heavier and just arent all that nice, a crx or hb with a b16 would be alot faster than the 99 si, and if your talking about the 03 si it has a k20 not b16

If the '03 Civic Si is a k20 engine, just like the Honda S2000, the new Si's push 240 Hp?

Re: speed on b16
the '03 si is a k20a1 (i belive) and is pushing out 160hp...that engine is also found in the base model rsx. the rsx-s has the k20a2 and is pushing out 200 hp and the s2000 for the year 2004 has a new 2.2 liter and not the old 2.0 liter like in the older s2000's. And yeah a 1st gen b16 in a crx should be faster than a new Si...its a hell of a lot lighter.

Re: speed on b16
I've never had a problem beating the 99-00 SiR (Si for you Americans), and I haven't had a go at the new Si hatchbacks but I'm sure they wouldn't be much of a problem.
![]() On the highway with the 99-00 SiR I pull a bit, but rather slowly.. I think they have better aerodynamics than me, but I have less wieght and slightly better gearing.
