Customizing my interior...

I would like to customize the interior on my 2000 Civic EX - focusing initially on the dash and accessories (control panel for my climate control/stereo/emergency lights button and rear defroster button). I would like to paint the entire dashboard blue (as close a shade of blue to my paintjob outside as possible), but with white accents - like the airbag cover will be white, the vents will be white, and the plastic surrounding my accessories will be white - I just got a few questions - is it hard to take my dash out so I can paint it? How long will it take to pull it out, and put it back in - I'm not concerned with the drying time - I figure it should be ok after a couple hours to put the dash back in. Is it going to be complicated to get the dash back in perfect so I won't have to hear any rattling noises if something doesn't want to go back to the way it was? Also, what kind of paint should I use - just regular spray paint in a shade of my choice?

After it's done, I'll have my friend who's a graphics/tattoo artist convert pics into a file so I can post them on here so you all can tell me what you think. If I think it's too complicated for me to do myself, I'll try to get another friend to help me out with it - I'm pretty sure he'll be willing to help - if not then it may not get done - we'll see.
