Unhappy Clicking noise from rear suspension

92 Geo Storm, 5 Spd:

When I turn left, I hear a distinct, repetitive *clunk* from the right rear wheel. The sound is very similar to that of a worn CV joint, but as this is a FWD car, it's obviously not that. To be sure of the noise source, I had the front end checked out, and everything there is fine. The mechanic said he could not see the source of the rear noise simply upon a sight inspection. I didn't drop the car off, I had just pulled up in front of his garage and he used a jack to check some things out, so he didn't get to drive it.

The noise doesn't occur specifically when I am accelerating, braking, or decelerating (in or out of gear), only when I turn left. Right turns do not cause the noise.

I have had the wheel balanced, checked the car's alignment, and inflated tires to the proper pressure. All of the car's struts are fairly new, and it does not seem to have any other symptoms indicating a suspension problem.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with my damn Storm?
