the Si has the H23a DOHC non-VTEC and 160 hp
the VTEC prelude 92-96 4th gen has the H22a DOHC VTEC and 190 hp
there was also i think a 2.0 s 4ws prelude but i could be mistaken

just to clarify, there was a 2.3 si 4ws not a 2.0 s. at least not 92 up. and the 4ws was only an option in 92-93.

as far as what looks best stock. look at a 94-96 vtec. i have a 93 sr (si), and i wish now that i had bought a vtec. plus honda did some minor changes in 94 and up ludes to improve it, and debug things. but don't get me wrong.... they all kick ass

is there a difference between h23a and h23a1?

notice the 1. Just asking because after my swap, the engine code read h23a without the 1
