The EVO 8 is never coming to Canada because the bumpers don't meet safety standards and Mitsubishi doesn't want to spend the money on a redesign for such a small market. The only other option is getting a more expensive STI or to modify a used DSM, lets just hope the EVO 9 comes to Canada.

It is illegal to import the EVO 8 from the US to Canada because of the bumper reasons I stated before. As a matter of fact it is illegal to import any EVO from any country in the world to Canada unless its 15 years or older, I don't think the EVO has even been around for that long.

So what's your point? The guy asked if the EVO 8 will be sold in Canada and you tell him that you saw a nice one in Hawaii. So what? How does that answer the question, did you expect him to fly to Hawaii buy it off the guy and then leave it there cause he can't import it.

Try to answer peoples questions with an informative response.

Re: Evo VIII in canada?

yeah it sucks that we cant import any REAL mitsubishi cars into canada argh i mean seriously who buys the OZ lancer and ralliart versions ? they have like little to no power and look like small toys fit for children than a real car sadly there is no way to change regulations what we need are politicians in the legislature here that care about cars ! and not those environmentalist car ppl who ask for more emissions regulations !

LOL! u no something, when one gives this topic some thought, of course no one cares bout the cars let alone the country. Do u see who runs canada? Dude, first off, the guy who runs the country smiles crooked, he is fucked up, the leader for the party quebecois was missing a leg ( bouchard for those who dont no ) I wonder y cars arent an issue. Canada sux ballz, we have a chocolate army on top of it. We want cars, not rules. USA will always dominate the automotive market.

Im still proud of the beaver!

Its almost like they don't want us to have any fun in Canada. The US gets all the cool cars and they get them many months before we do. The can even import Skylines (although they cost an arm and a leg).

The Canadian car laws are so stupid, the govenment says that we can't import cars from other counties because they don't conform to Canadas safety or emissions standards, but what if the cars surpass the standards why can't we import those ones.

Even more stupid is that if the car is older than 15 years we can import it, but i can guarantee that a 15 year old car will be nowhere near as safe or emissions friendly as a newer car

As far as the STI goes I have heard it can develop serious detonation problems if you try to mod it, but I'm sure there is a way to take care of that. Otherwise it sounds kickass, tons of grip and tons of power what more could you want?(perhaps a lower price )

If mitsubishi dosen't offer something cool soon I'll end up sellin the DSM for a WRX or STI. Maybe even a SRT-4, fully loaded for $27 000 compared to a base WRX for $35 000 how can you go wrong.

all ur points are good ones and i will have to agree with 100% of wat u sed. The sti is a kick ass car, my cousin just bought it and rips n e one who messes with him. He does have some mods done to it, but nothing tremendous. The way that car sounds just sends shivers down my spine. It is soo soothing ( dont want to sound gay )

If the evo dont come or cant be imported, i no where im turning to...SUBARU. lol, im a poet and i didnt even no it. haha, there again!
I love rally cars for multiple reasons. 1 being i love the sport and 2 being cause the cars are just soo well designed. From the size, engine to their aerodynamic aspect, sub's are great. I still love the evo , dont get me wrong, its just that i cant get wat i want !
