03 voyager 25 K miles, frnt end clunk

I get a slight clunk when van goes over slight bumps in road, ie man-hole cover. Sounds like ssomething loose. I have jacked up front end and place a pry-bar under wheels and nothing appears loose.

ANother group thought it was sway bar bushings, so I'll check them but ....... at 25K miles??

Thanks
Bruce

sway bars bushing and links

I have a 2002 TC and at 28K had same noise. Just had the sway bar bushing and links replaced under warranty. No noise. My previus 97 Gr Caravan had bushings/links/bar replaced at 9K, 18K, 20something K (once was for Engine Mount Bushings). So, yeah, they are common on these cars.

Cool

Yes this is a common problem. But the bushings are really cheap, like $6 Canadian each from Chrysler, and you can put them in yourself!
Just do a search and youll see.
Dont be descuraged. Its not a real bad problem.
If you want Ill post how to do it and What tools you need.

DO tell. I need to do this also. I went to the dealer for a tire rotation and they came back to me with a whole laundry list of this needing to be done and that was one of them. I have an 2002 GC.

First , what is on that list they gave you?
and second.............

Here we go..........

Jack the front of the van up a shigh as you can (because you have to get under it) and place stands under the frame. Then you need a 15mm wrench and a 15mm deep socket, extension and rachet. This is the minimal tools you will need. I used an impact gun and an air rachet because I had them and the nuts were on unusually tight.
Now you can take which ever side you want appart. When you get the bolt out the retaining cover should come off easily. Make sure to take note which way the rubber is in. Now you can move the swaybar in such a way to remove the rubber. The rubbers are split from factory and and may take some prying to get off. Now to install the new on you need to lube it with vegitable oil and reverse your steps. It may take some working to get them on and off.

The funny thing about the procedure was that you dont even have to take the front wheels off. What I wrote may sound easy but you may want some one there mechanically inclined to help. Or if you can get it done for under $100 go for it. Still its a cheap and easy fix, for me anyway

It took me from a van that the front end suonded like it was falling off to a Quiet pleasurable ride.

If any one else has comments please feel free to submit!!
