1965 Shelby GT-350 Competition Model - detailed

Here is another Model I completed a few years ago. It's a highly modified Monogram GT-350R Mustang. I am a huge Mustang fan and realised that the Monogram kit was far from a accurate representation of the classic race car. The rear wheelarches were properly enlarged, side and rear windows and glass modified to represent the plexi-glass, rear valence corrected etc. I scratchbuilt the interior tub to duplicate the stripped clean race look. Also the engine and chassis required major work.
Again, I hope you all enjoy the photo's and comments are welcomed.
Thanks
Rob

Great work. I love the weathering you've done on the chassis. Just everything about the Stang is amazing. Keep up the great work.

Insane! Are those wheel studs functional...does the wheel really fit onto the studs? Like the hood pins.

Rob, that is one fly stang, nice trunk opening, but I think you did the windows on the doors backwards. I've never owned, nor seen this car, but, like in my SR5, with the windows that far down, they slant forward not reverse. But, the stang could be different I guess. Good build tho, 10/10!!!

robrex, this shelby is packed with little details...I just noticed the that the hood hinges have springs! Monte Carlo bar, relays... And the holes in the R-model bumper actually feed air to the dics brakes...incredible! I like the rear window fasteners too.
Any interior pics?

The windows are supposed to be like that. On most every car, the windows are wedge shaped, but if you noticed the windows on the mustangs (this era) are rectangular. BTW this should have been in AFMOTY

The stock Mustang side glass and window regulators were replaced with weight-saving aluminum-framed plastic side windows with lift straps therefore when the straps were released the window would drop into the door cavity. This resulted in the window sitting as displayed in the model : )
Thanks

Ohh!
Yes the wheel studs locate the front wheel.
I wasn't able to get nuts to fit so it is just a nice snug push on wheel. I imagine this would cause all sorts of problems cornering?
