Exclamation

Some of you probably already know this thing is on the market.

AEM makes a bypass valve for cold air intakes, allowing you to keep water out of the intake regardless of the weather conditions. I wanted one, but was told that they have no plans to manufacture their new intakes complete w/ the bypass valve . . . not for the G20 P10 or P11. Tey told me they will make it if there is enough of a demand . . .

The last time I corresponded with Eric, he was looking for test fitment vehicles of the new intake . . .

Let him know you want an intake, even if you don't . . .

please?

Question

Can't you just rig up a by-pass valve to say a Hotshot CAI?

Thumbs up

Yeah . . . they sell the valve seperately, I believe. I'm not sure wchich diameters are available (to match the applicable CAI). Then the only concer would be placing the valve at the correct point along the intake tract. I don't remember where I read it, but the valve is supposed to be a specific distance from the throttle body or something like that. I'm not certain, but I may have read that in SCC's test article, performed on an NSX with the cone filter in a fish tank.

Anyway, I'd rather not "monkey" around with that kind of stuff, I'm not very good at it. I'd like to just buy it and know that it works right out of the box, no fiddling/measuring/guesstimating, you know?

But to answer your question, yes! You can put the "valve" on any pipe you want . . . I'm pretty sure.
