Two Nissans on the way: Tamiya 300ZX and Revell 510
Well, the Tamiya 300ZX is practically done, needing a second coat of paint, and then a gloss coat, the body details, seats, and exhaust system. The paint is Cold Blue Blast nail polish, and the interior is finished in Tamiya flesh. I've added wheels from the Tamiya Volvo 850 Estate BTCC kit, and I'm considering painting them with aluminum metalizer. But a coat of dullcoat over the white could be nice too. Not sure.
A custom exhaust will be built up, definitely. It's a cool little kit. And I'm definitely pleased with how it's going together. The engine turned out very nicely, I think. Very nice to put together. Now, onto my Datsun 510 from the Revell kit. I've just got this one picture, that shows the scratchbuilt rollcage (well, I took the rear bar with the molded on fire extinguisher out of an old Revell BMW 320i Rally kit) and seat pirated from a Revell BMW 320i Rally kit. I'm building it as a Production class SCCA track car. I'm really enjoying it, too. Side panels should be scratchbuilt in good time, and I'm looking forward to the other modifications I'll be making. So, what do you guys think?

Those both look really good. The rims on the 300Z are really cool.
Keep us posted.

I based the rollcage in the 510 on the main rollbar hoop from a Revell BMW 320i Rally kit, and then scratchbuilt the downtubes from rod styrene. The fire extinguisher was molded onto the hoop, so I simply painted on some red and silver. I'll post more pictures of if once I've got a racing harness installed and the engine done.
Of course, I've really got no idea what color I'm going to paint the 510. Probably silver and dark blue, maybe with black color separation pinstripes.

Thanks for all the compliments, folks. I'll probably have pictures of the engine in few days and I'm working on scratchbuilding some interior panels the way ratdat did.
And don't worry Honoturtle, I won't be painting my 510 red. The #41 number decals I have for it wouldn't look good against a red body, and I'm trying to avoid copying the BRE look. It's a little overdone, no?
