I just put an aftermarket stereo in my wife's 99 caravan and cannot get any power to the stereo. I also noticed the interior lights now do not come on when you open the door unless the key is on or if you turn on the lights.
I have checked all of the fuses but do not know what else to check and her manual is not much help... |

I hear and feel your pain!!! I just did the exact same thing and am now having the exact same problem. I also checked the entire fuse/relay system and found nothing. I've been deparately trying to find a solution to this problem. I even reinstalled the original stereo system and am STILL have the same symptoms. Any Ideas?? I can't find anything online that might be helpful and I'm certainly not going to take it to a dealer. Please, please email me at [email protected] if you, or anyone has an answer to this problem. My wife is getting quite frustrated driving without any tunes, which of course puts pressure on me to find a SOLUTION. |

Follow up
Sorry I am still in the same shape; at least my wife can drive the van...
I talked to a friend of mine that works at Autozone (who actually knows something) and he said I should take it to the dealer so that is what my wife is going to do; I'll let you know what we come up with... |

WAIT!!! DON'T GO TO THE DEALER! Save your money. I just got a response fro a guy who had the exact same problems and here's what he wrote; James Kelly" <[email protected]> Add to Address Book Subject: Re: Caravan Install Stereo Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 08:25:24 -0500 To: "Clayton" <[email protected]> I found my problem . . . it was a fuse under the hood. It was a 10 amp fuse marked MEM. This is the battery feed to devices in the car that require power when the car is not on/car not in ignition. Things like the radio memory and the power door locks. I know in my manual it states that there are fusable links for some things and, if this link gets blown, the only way to reset it is to take it to the dealer. Regards James I followed what he suggested and replaced the fuse. It's located in the fuse panel under the hood. Look at the housing guide and it's a 10amp fuse, alone at the top of the fuse box and clearly labeled as MEM. Now I have tunes, interior lights, and the rest of stuff which didn't work due to the fuse being blown. Good luck. Clayton |

Re: Interior Lights & Radio not working
THANKS! I missed that fuse when I checked them all (I was probably so mad I didn't even see it...) and now it is all fixed!

I had the same problem when I installed a DVD in my 2001. I mixed the Batt. and Aux. wires and it killed the DVD screen. Switched the wires, replaced the screen (under warranty thank God!) and all is well! Know the kids are quiet again. Life is good!
