cracked tranny
hi guys once again i turn to you for advice.i have a 99 suburban 1500
and friday at about 65 mph the universal joint snapped on the rear drive axle.so i pulled it out of transfer case threw it in trunk and drove home(9pm and had my kids in truck) using 4 HI.now my problem is somehow the case on the transmission way in the front got cracked and is leaking. would that be from my 15 minute drive home or the rear ujoint breaking. Sorry about the long question but also was wondering has anyone dealt with the warranty company "wynns". and if i have to pay out of pocket does anyone have an idea at all for a tranny replacement cost if get it done $1000 $2000 more? sorry again about lon winded question thanks sooo much guys... |

Re: cracked tranny
'way in front'? What is cracked? Bell housing or tranny case? What is leaking? oil or tranny fluid? Did you strike something with the tranny? Has the tranny moved off it's mounts or proper location? Any signs the engine mounts are shot?

got truck back yesterday seeems o.k. but it shifts "different" now.
When it comes out of first to go into second it seems it does so at a lower mph than before its more noticable now.Does that make sense. I think all they did was swap trans case it still has same guts.Does computer need to 'relearn' or ?????? Thanks |
