1998 Silverado Ck 1500 5.7,350 Ci
Can Anyone Help? Truck Starts Fine,while Driving It Will Shut Down And Come Back On. Dash Lites Pop On And Off As This Happens.can Drive For 20 Miles Or More And Does Fine,no Pattern To These Shutdowns.check Engine Lite Is Not On .seems Like A Short Or Posible The Fuel Pump.also Gas Gage Shows Half Full When I Have Only 5 Or 6 Gallons Left In Tank(have To Watch Millage).new Fuel Filter And Plugs. 116,000 Miles. Any Suggestions Or Answers Would Be Greaty Apreciated

2 things come to mind, fuel pump relay and fuel pump. The gas gauge sending unit is part of the pump asm that is in the gas tank. Check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail. The is a schrader valve on the rail. It should be around 60 PSI. The fuel filter should be changed every 25 to 30 K. It is under the drivers door on the inside of the frame. Be careful when changing it as it is under pressure. Release the pressure at the schrader valve.

Thanhs For The Info On Fuel Pump. Also I Think I Figured Out The Shutdown Problem.a Loose Neg Wire On Battery.
