Wink My AE86 Turbo In Progress *(Many Pics)*

Hi everybody, my name is Andy and I am from New Zealand. I have been a guest of this forum for quite a while now and I love all the top standard of work some of you guys have been put out. I would also like to share with you guys one of my model in the build at the moment. It is an AE86 Levin from Fujimi. The kit is not really well made, and not very detailed at all, therefore I have spent some time to make this a better kit.

This is what I started with, I cut off the original bumper to make a new one

I have also modified the wheels to some nice deep dish using the method from the AF Tutorials!

I have added a custom made halfcage built from evergreen styrene rods

Here are 2 pics of the new modified sideskirts

I have used some real thin styrene sheets to custom make the 4 point racing harness. A lot of patience has been put in to complete the buckles as they brake so easily, but i love the finished results.

I have also custom made a new Tacho meter with wirings which is attached on the side of the instrument panel.

Here is a rough picture of the underside of the body, it is not really completed to my satisfactory yet.

Thats all the progress I have made so far from the last 3 weeks. Next up will be a new exhaust system to suit the turbo version AE86, and a new front mount intercooler. Also will be starting to put putty on the shell.

Thanks for your time for viewing my model, all comments are welcome

Thanks for the replies guys

The colour will be the most classic Black and White Panda look. It is my favourite colour for AE86. Hope everything goes well.

Hey, can you tell us more about the harnesses you have made, I wanna try to do the same. Can you describe more in detail?

Ooooo. Owning a drift car, I should know these things. BTW, that dude in your pic looks happy, honestly I'd be pretty pissed.
