3800 S/C, trans problems!

This morning on my way to work; it seemed like my car wouldn't go into first gear.

When I first started driving, the rpms were at about 2K/2,500, but the boost gage would go all the way up to 7 or so. It was really sluggish, and this is not how it drove even yesterday. I can use first gear if I put the gear shift in 1, but in either D or OD, its like it doesnt shift down. I've tried switching between regular and perf. shift, but nothing helps. Once im goin 35 or so, everything seems fine. Electrical problem? or am i looking at a new trans/rebuild....?

Re: 3800 S/C, trans problems!

I got my car from a n auction on 6/23/04. Paid $1,600 for it and no more than two hours later, the car made a high reving noise twice. The car was loseing moving power and had to be parked into a Walgreen parking lot. I went back with my mechanic and he said the car is not moving when gears are shifting not even in Neutral. The look good on the outside, but is horrible under the hood. Right now it's just a big log. How much is it for a bonneville trans anyway? HELLLLP!!!!

Got mine taken care of; some selenoids went, and i had to replace the ECU as well. $915 later, im back on the road.

and to sseiluv, to have the trans rebuilt is like 2200-2500
