Question What would you buy? Halo/JDM Black

Like in my other posts I explained about my bad luck with the deer. So I got my estimate and it is about $900, and the deer did break my left headlight so rather than replacing what I have now(Halo Projector Black Housing Headlights--Heres the link of exact place I bought them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710 ) I was wondering if I should just buy the JDM Black Housing Headlights: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

Which one looks better? The Halo Headlights fogged up a lot so I'm not sure if I want that product again. But I seen the JDM Black on my friends car(Same as mine) And they looked hott! What does everyone think??

JDM. Halos are only good if you never plan on driving after 7pm. Just long enough to light up the rings and have them visible. When the headlights are on, you can't see the rings more than 10 ft from the car and you cant see the road more than 10ft ahead of you.

I say this from personal experience. The pic in my sig shows my old halos, but I have since replaced them with black housing w/ HID kit and they kick ultimate arse!!!

Thanks for the input AF. So the JDM lights pictured are definitely a good pick? Or does anyone one know where I can get them for a good price? Also check my post 92+Civic>Deer/Bad Luck... I'm selling the Halos

Lightbulb

That was a great DIY! I still have my OEM headlights. I think I might try the same experiment but with a dofferent color. If I could get my headlight housing dark blue to match the car, I think it would be extra pimp! If it doesn't work, I'll just keep the black housings that I bought.

That's a great DIY for making some awesome lloking headlights. What's I'd change and recommend about that project, is the mirrored part where the blinker/parking bulb is, leave that part the nowmal color as well, otherwise the corner bulb may not look or reflect right when on.

Yes, I see the link. What you probably dont understand my OEM lights were damaged in a car accident and I don't have them. So I have to buy new ones. As of right now, I have the Halo ones in(aspictured in the link above). I'm also assuming about the $45 I'm supposed to send is a joke? LOL. Yeah I plan on buying the JDM Black. Thanks for your help though...well appreciated!

For $94 bucks, you are not getting a "JDM Headlight."...no way...period...it's most likely a knock off brand (in which case it will still leak)... or some guy took his old OEM headlights or a junk yard pair and did a DIY and is now selling them...and I wouldn't pay for that when you can do it youreself. As for "broken in a wreck." Shouldn't Insurence have given you $$ for new headlights after the wreck? Just get those and DIY. But for $94, you are not getting JDM headlights, no way, no how...they're not real JDM headlights for that price...And lkailburn, that's a phat-DIY, I've seen that before over at that site....

Do you have pics of how it turned out for you...I liked his idea about smoking out the corner reflector a bit, it looked much better...also, as to SilverYSKCivic's wondering about the turn signal not shining correct painted dark, it should be fine....the black housed corners for the 92-95 5th gen's you can buy (now called JDM Black, which is funny since the stock JDM corners on a 5th gen weren't black) look and shine fine, and those are a flat black also. It's plenty easy to see. Doing it like he (and I assume you) did should end up about the same as those look. Perosnally, I have always though the black housed corners looked cleaner..back before they made them, I tried to take the cover off of a 92-95 set of clear corners and put do a DIY black...but since the face on those is plastic, it didn't come free as easy or clean like your headlights face would, so I just smoked em out, lol. What other DIY projects have you done that turned out decent?

Is there a way to alleviate the fogging of the halo headlights?
