Does anyone have any experience with rear mudflaps for the Civic hatchbacks? I was at the junkyard the other day and I happened to notice this hatchback with rear mudflaps. The mudflaps were on the car perfect... like it wasn't modified at all to fit the car. So I took them off and bought them. However, when I tried installing them on my 1990 DX hatchback, they would not fit. What gives?
I didn't get to check what year hatchback the flaps came from since I figured all hatchbacks were the same for 1988-1991 (with a few modifications of course). I know these mudflaps aren't the CRX ones... but are the rear mudflaps for the '88-'89 different from the '90-'91 on the hatchbacks? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

88-89s and 90-91s have different bumpers. so maybe the mudflaps mount differently? personally, i think our hatchies look better without mudflaps.
i thought all hatchbacks came with mudflaps from the factory?

Re: Questions Regarding Rear Mud Flaps?
I purchased some mud flaps from a dude here with a 90 Civic hatch and they fit on my sedan great. I think almost every Civic came with front mudflaps, but the rear ones were definitely an option.

Mud flaps were/are a dealer installed option

the only difference between the 88-89 bumpers and the 90-91 bumpers are the corner lights and the turning signals but other than that the construction of the bumpers themselves are the same... shouldn't be different... that's weird.. maybe you just don't have the holes for it or you might of bought ones for the later civics you know the 92-95... then that won't fit for sure..

Well, when I finally tried installing them on my '90 hatchback, the rear mudflap was off by two screw locations. I'm stumped. |

How about just drilling new holes in the mudflaps to match up with your bumper?
