16's or 17's

I was thinking about getting rid of my si wheels and getting 16's or 17's. My '90 civic si is dropped 3 1/2" and I was wondering what size everyone would recomend? Also what Offset would I need with these sizes so I don't rub. If anyone has a pic with these sizes I would love to see.
Thanks,
Brandon

i have 16's on my ride, and most people would agree for the balance or speed and size, 16's are the way to go.

Re: 16's or 17's

All I have to say is 17's w/ 3.5" drop is gonna ride like shit.

For our under-powered cars, lighter/smaller wheels are better for performance.

Taller wheel/tire = higher top speed
Shorter = better acceleration - we need all we can get.

17s look fucked up on a 4th gen.. 16s are oversized enough.

Re: 16's or 17's

i think if i ever auto-x like i plan to, ill get a set of lightweight 15's to race on. For daily driving i like my 16's, i think they look great.

Re: 16's or 17's

+40 to +45.. 45 would be best, but you might be able to get away with a 40mm offset.

The smaller your wheel circumference (15-16), the faster your pull away (off the line) will be. But your top speed will come down.

Conversely, the larger your circumference (17-18), the slower your off the line will be, but the higher your top speed (less wheel revolutions to get to speed, when you eventually get there). Larger wheels will also give you more miles per gallon...

But I love raping Golf GTi's from light to light, so I stuck to 15's...
