How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

My car has tons of black carbon spitting out the back, I get backfires all the time when I let off the gas, and the car seems way to slow for 95hp!! Is it running with to much fuel?? it also has alot of white smoke at the same time...

How can I adjust, or fix this?? Anyone ever have this problem??

Thanks...

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

you can turn your distributor back a little to try and get the car to lean out more. also get the new o2 like they said to fix the a/f ratio back to normal.

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

our cars dont have any sensors after the cat, that wouldnt cause it to run rich. Try doing a good tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, o2 sensor, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, run some sea foam though it. Test your TBS and other manifold sensors. Might also check your fuel return line and pressure regulator, a clog could boost pressure and make the injectors spray more.

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

man you have to check the O2 sensor and the TPS this is (throtle position sensor), this 2 sensor control all the fuel flow in th eengine, so try out this 2 things and youll see the diference, about the white smoke, your engine might be burnig some oil, so check out this, cause of this your loosing compresion too................good look

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

sounds too me like this person needs to just forget about the engine and rebuild it.
that much shit pooping out the back means someone hit too many rpms

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

Thats not competely true, If it was burning oil I'd agree but this sounds like a easily fixable fuel problem

Re: How do I adjust, if my car is running to rich??

to retard the timing would be to tilt the disto towards you if you are standing in front of the car. or from the side, would be a clockwise direction.
