2003 First Mods??

Hello guys this is my first post on your forum and I am excited about personalizing my new tahoe! anyway I was wandering which performance mods to do first? could someone help me with this? I'm thinking fresh air intake, flowmaster, and a re-program! but what has worked for you guys and which way is the best way to go!
I appreciate any advice in advance,

thanks,
Richard.

Congrats on your new purchase. The mods you plan to do first are definately the best to start off with. So good choices. What other plans do you have, lowering, rims, etc?

Re: 2003 First Mods??

From what I've read, Flowmasters are not really great flowing mufflers. If you want ones that really flow, look into some Dynomax Ultraflows. If all you're after is a louder muffler, Flowmasters would work fine. Otherwise, good choice of starting mods.

Go with borla exhaust. I've got it on my 03 Tahoe, and I love it. If you wanna hear a sound clip, go to http://www.zacandkrista.com/borla

Well my first mods were a 2-3 drop from McGaughys drop spindal and 3" springs in the rear, then added 22" centerline edge II! Now the next mod I want to do is the exhaust now I'm looking for sound and performance in one package! I was under the tahoe one day looking at the exhaust and it looks pretty stout and well made I was thinking of just replacing that casket size muffler and replacing it with an aftermarket like flowmaster but if borla flows better than that just might be the way I go! I'm looking ahead to do some headers on it but have not found a manufacturer who makes them for 03 w/4.8 yes thats why I am modding to make up for the difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 which is like 10 flbs torque and 5 HP I think! anyways, all and any advice is much appreciated!

Richard.
