Ball Joints

hi all,
got Jimmy 95...over 100k miles on it. Couple weeks ago my front axel broke. Got it fixed for $700 and they told me that it was because the ball joints broke and that eventually broke the axel too. They also recommended to me to change all other ball joints because it's supposed to be changed every 75k miles. $300 a wheel = almost a grand for the three of them. Is the 75k miles true? Or are they just stealing money from me? Please help.

Ball joints should only be replaced when they are worn out.

That may be 75000 miles or only 10000 miles. Don't let them take your money.

Hope this helps.
