Gauge Cluster Questions

Ok, got some questions. Have a 89 Si gauge cluster and well I was racing last night at the track and the speedo gauge needle broke!!!!! Now, can I replace the needle? Or do I have to change out the whole speedo gauge??? See my crappy pic below about the needle breaking off!! LMAO!!!

Re: Gauge Cluster Questions

you have it in a dx/std right? do you still have your old cluster? you can swap out the whole thing right there, theres like four screws on the back of the guages that hold the speedometer part in it. really easy to do. I did it to keep my mileage correct when i put in my cluster with a tach.

Yeah, it's in a DX. I just got a HF cluster off of Ebay. So I can just swap in that speedo gauge to my Si one? Wish I would have known that before I traded my DX one for the Si one. Could have kept my original speedo!! Oh well!! Kewl! Thanks!!

I have an extra speedo (or even just the needle) if you need it...

Re: Gauge Cluster Questions

You can use 2 spoons to pry off the needle. 88-89 and 90-91 needles are not interchangeable on the speedo.

The speedo mechanics are swapable between all years tach & no-tach models, but the faces are not.
