fujimi kit....
i noticed in one thread, someone said, "ask the forum befoer buying fujimi kits" well... are the initial d kits alright? (i know fujimi are the only ones that make initial d kits), but are they of good quality?
edit: the ones i ordered were (fd apec, fc3s, and 86trueno)_ |

I've made the FD and have the FC and Trueno
The FD was alright, but the decal were quite cartoon like. FC was horrible, although it came with tons of extra parts, none were correct to make a correct copy of the one from the manga/anime. 86, it's alright, but don't expect too much. It's just a re-tooled kit from the 80's that used to be motorized. Same for the FC, btw. |

hmm... thanks for the advice...
about the fc, if i want to make it into a replica, would tehre me much cutting and trimimg, and after market parts involved? or if i just built it stock, could i fool most ppl? |

You can check out a lot of built models of the Hachi at www.warachan.com. The lights don't look quite right (front side markers are too big). But overall shape of the car is acceptable. Definitely was meant as a motorized kit, and allowance made to transform it into a race car. Also, as with almost ALL the Fujimi kits from the '80s, the front seats are *severely* undersized. Also doesn't specify which part of the "panda" scheme should be flat/gloss/semi-gloss...

what is the exact Trueno kit model (on HLJ) that has the extra bucket seats, steering wheels, intercooler, etc.

if you want to go smaller, Aoshima has the 86, FC, FD, and Sileighty in 1:32. Judging from the catalog, they don't come with interiors though.
