My 1992 S-10 Blazer (4wd, 4.3 700R4 Tahoe pkg) is VERY slow to warm up in the morning. The truck has to run for nearly 15 minutes
before it even begins to show signs of heat. The temp gauge doesn't show any heat until the truck has been driven for about 10 minutes. Is this normal or do I have a problem? Need some help here.

Re: 1992 S-10 Blazer heater
What is the outside temperature..remember, the colder it is outside, the longer it will take to reach operating temperature.

I have considered that, but it still seems like too long. My Dad's Jimmy warmed up pretty good in about 7 minutes in below freezing temps. The temp here is around 40 degrees or so and only going to get colder.

Change the thermostat. For like 5-7 bucks, cant go wrong, and if you have the 4.3L, its easy, right up on top
. It sounds like it could be sticking open, if its taking too long to warm up. Give it a shot. Good luck! -Dan- |
