well hello. my problem is with my 92 passat GL. the problem is that my horn, motorized seat belts and sun roof do not opperate. the other electrical like the power windows and locks work just fine. also i am not very car savvy so if you could pretty much "dumb down" your answers that would be great. also i'm not sure if my power windows are only supposed to roll down one at a time, instead of having the option of all of them at the same time, but that is what they do...one at a time.

Re: electrical?
Nomad I'm plauged the the electric woes of the vintage passats also. My windows roll down one at a time also. I think this might be the norm for our cars. GL.

Yep I have the same problem with the windows, it has to be a vw thing. Anyways, did you ever figure out what was wrong with the eletrical? I have some similar problems my back windows don't even work nor my cruise control; also my stereo isn't getting any power. I am assuming that it is eltrical since three devises around the same general area have gone out; also my stereo worked for a day then went out again. So ya...... eletrical shit sucks!

Passst 95 windows glitches
Once they all were goin up/down when car was off. I wasnt paying attention back then to what mechanic said( I was at the court that day and car was new ) but I remember keywords: "distribution switch/cap". Which was $200 CDN.
Still front passenger window goes down by itself sometimes ( breaks applied, turn signals, acceleration. shaking ) |
