Door lock is stuck
I have a 93 Olds Cutlass Supreme, and the door is stuck locked. Both interior and exterior handles are working (ie, not broken or stuck), and they move just as they do when the door is locked. I can hear the latch mechanism moving, but the door is not opening. The power locks are working, and move freely, but the door is not opening. Is there something preventing to door from unlatching, even if the lock is disengaged and the handle is pulled? Is there anyway I can get it open? The door panel cannot be removed from the inside without destroying it.

Re: Door lock is stuck
What has happened is the two screws that hold the electronic locking mechanism to the doors have probably broken loose. This happened in my car a few weeks ago. I could hear the lock make a "thunk" noise when I used it but the door wouldn't lock or unlock. The parts that Oldsobile used to bolt the lock unite to the inside of the door arn't real great so I bought replacement bolts (I can find out what size if your interested). It's not too hard to fix but it takes a little while. You have to remove the inner door pannel and peel back the plastic cover. The lock "motor" is in plain veiw and easy to repair. It could be something else but I'm 95% sure thats what is broken.

Re: Door lock is stuck
If you really want to know whats going on, just take apart the door.

Re: Re: Door lock is stuck
How do I get the door panel off? I need to remove the door panel on the driver's side of my Olds 88 Cierra to look at the locking mechanism. I have removed the obvious screws and pulled the panel off the clips around the edges. However, there seems to be something on the top left (rear) holding the panel on. It looks like some kind of screw that is _inside_ the panel and I can't get to it. How do I get the panel off?
Thanks. Quote:

Re: Door lock is stuck
if your seatbelt is attached to your door( not sure about your model) peel up the clip that is covering where it enters the door. in there, there are 2 screws
