front end struts bottoming out

1994 grand caravan.

front end keeps bottoming out, even on small bumps on road... violent on medium potholes and speed bumps. It's like the struts were not even there.

i replaced the front springs to Heavy duty, replaced the ball joints, swaybar bushings, replaced the fronts struts twice (Gabriel and monroe). I also replaced the spring seat bushing (round bushing where spring seats on strut).

Probably unrelated to problem but also changed: replace both front axle shafts, replace both bearings hubs.

I also replaced the rear leaf front and back bushings and rear shocks.

Could it be that I did not tighten the lower control arms enough and they are too loose?

Could I have gotten deffective struts twice? I checked for spring/resistance in the compression of the strut before installation and it seemed ok.

Any ideas would be welcomed.
